C A R L I N G F O R D

At 6a.m on Monday morning i woke up not even thinking about how early it was i hoped out of bed with excitement!! i had my bag packed and ready to go along with enough food to feed an army!

we met at esso garage at 7 am and got onto the bus. the trip to carlingford went a lot quicker than expected and in no time we had arrived at carlingford. nearly as soon as the bus stopped we all poured out of it and as soon as we had our bags we headed straight to the center where we gathered together in the volleyball court to have an introduction we were given our rooms, we thought we might have to split up but when we heard there was a room of 8 i rushed up to claim it so we all were in the same which was a good start! we were told to leave our bags to our rooms get our wet gear and come straight back down as we were heading straight out to do activities on the water!

We started with this game and then straight to get changed into our wet suits and out onto the water we canoed over to a smaller beach across the bay. when there we were told of this legend of a cave which had water at the end and supposedly if you put your head under the water you'd get an extra day on your life! the water was ice cold!! it was funny watching everyone's reaction though! after that we canoed back to the main beach and walked back up to the center for lunch! after lunch we headed to the challenges, i enjoyed them some were a little bit silly but enjoyable all the same.. my favorite challenge was the 'communication breakdown' which was a challenge where we had to find our way through the maze in the pitch dark! after our challenges we went back for dinner and had some time to ourselves before our evening activity!

we had to walk up a really steep hill which out of the whole day was the most tiring bit! when we got to the top our activity was night vision which meant we put blindfolds on and walked through the forest with the only guidance being vanning one hand  on a rope leading us on a trail and our other hand on our friend in front of us shoulder to keep us together through the trail! it was good fun our instructors followed us with twigs tipping them off our heads to throw us off and to freak us out!! after a while we all copped n to the fact that it was just them so we were less reactive to them.. but at the end of the trail the second group were just about to start and we  got to do the same to them and it even more funny when you're on the other side! on our way back they took us the more scenic route, it was fun on the way back, we were singing songs and having a laugh.

when we got back we were aloud to do what we wanted. most of us went to get Chinese or chipper. that night we had our own 'disco' in the common room at the center! most of us in our pjs.. then after the disco back to our rooms to dig into our stash of food!! very little sleep was had in our room that night im sure it was the same in others! after some time we agreed it might be a good idea to get a couple hours of sleep as we were up early and out on the water the following morning.. after the water activities the next morning we had lunch and then off up to our final activity which was the laser shooting which was by far the best of all! we had army uniforms and face paints too! the laser shooting was my Favorite activity of all the activities we done in carlingford!
after that it was on home! everyone was so tired on the way home most people just slept on the bus home. i really enjoyed the trip to carlingford I really think it helped to bond us as a year goup! and i would've loved it to be longer!
